About the Collection...................................
Inspired by an old attribute to the biblical land of Macedonia, which connects the tectonic plates of Europe and Asia, we named this collection Catena Mundi, which means lock of the world.
A crossroad for conquerors, the land of Macedonia is known as the birthplace of one of the world’s great alphabets, the Cyrillic, and abundant in orthodox art, woodcarving and folk embroidery, and the filigree art which was the inspiration for the Catena Mundi collection.
The hand crafted filigree jewelry worn by Macedonian women was reflects the simplicity of Macedonian life through centuries of oppression and the enduring strength of the Macedonian woman.
The Collection was developed exclusively for the Macedonian Arts Council.
